Marginalisation Across Cultures: Dalit Women in India and Traveller Women in Ireland

The Ireland India Institute organised a seminar on ‘Marginalisation Across Cultures: Dalit Women in India and Traveller Women in Ireland’ at All Hallow’s Camous of Dublin City University. It was an ambitious effort to bring together Dalit activists from India and Traveller activists from Ireland in conversation with each other. In a first of its kind event, four activist-scholars shared their views of social and political marginalization faced by these communities, and how these experiences can be moved towards solidarities. The objective of this seminar was to bring together activists and scholars from both countries working on the issues faced by these communities for the first time, hoping to bridge a new connection.
